For any inquiry, please contact us as follows:
The NDP 2008 line dance is called "Together". You can download the step sheet and music, and watch the demonstration video below:
Below are the details we have at the moment. We will keep you updated as new information become available.
The first 3 sessions of the combined practices are confirmed as follows:
3/10/31 May 2008, Sat, 4-6pm @ Bedok Camp
Here's a handy PDF file of the confirmed May 2008 Combined Practices Schedule. Please make sure you bring your NRIC or Driving License or you won't be able to go for practice.
The folowings are things you must take note.
The music, "Together", for the NDP2008 line dance is now made available. Please see details at Step Sheet, Demo Video, Music & Practices.
We're in the process of tidying up the final participation list. If you haven't heard from us yet, please contact us at ndp2008@cldas.com or 9090 6876.
We've uploaded a demonstration of the NDP 2008 dance "Together" at YouTube.
The demonstration was videoed straight after we finalized the dance script and learning the dance for the first dance. So you'll see some hiccups. But you will get to see how the whole dance is done.
Head over to YouTube now to watch the demo video.
The step sheet for the NDP 2008 line dance "Together" is here in PDF format. You can download it right here at CLDAS.
Please note: The Together step sheet over at Yipee at the point of this writing is NOT the correct version. It is the version before final revision. The version of Together here at CLDAS is the final version.
A quick update to let everyone know that the closing date for NDP Line Dance Application has been extended to 5 Apr 2008.
This is in conjunction with the decision of the Show Committee to generate more publicity for the NDP Line Dance recruitment. SAFRA Radio (88.3 FM and Power 98) will be making daily live reads from now till April 5, inviting the public to take part as a line dancer for NDP 2008. The live read would direct them to go to Far East Square for inquiry.
Folks, here's an official invitation letter from COL Tay Boon Khai, Show Chairman, NDP 2008.
It gives more details and clarify some points that concern you. So please read it as soon as possible.
You can read the letter reproduced below or download the NDP 2008 Invitation Letter in PDF format.
Dear Line Dancer
INVITATION TO PERFORM IN NATIONAL DAY PARADE 2008
Line Dancing is going to be a performance in the 2008 National Day Parade (NDP) at the Marina Bay Floating Platform, and you are invited to be a part of it!
In response to any possible misunderstandings about this event, we would like to clarify that the NDP 08 Show Committee is the organizer for this event. The Show Committee has enlisted both Country Line Dance Association (Singapore) and Line Dance Society (Singapore) as the recruiting organizations for this event. The Committee has also appointed Ms Felicia Chia from Dance Zone as the official dance choreographer for this item.
There are NO restrictions, except for age. You have to be above 12 years old. We welcome everyone, whether you are a beginner or an advanced line dancer.
This is a special way to bring line dancing to the nation, and we ask for your commitment (at least 80% attendance), as there would be up to 12 sessions/performances (compulsory for the first 4 sessions and last 5 sessions) starting from 3 May 2008 (Sat), and including the NDP on 9 August 2008 (Sat). Transport will be provided from designated MRT station(s) to the rehearsal ground (in Bedok Camp) for the first three sessions.
Costumes & Dance Sneakers, Refreshments, and the NDP Fun Pack will be provided FOC for all participants (with more than 80% attendance). Much effort has already been put in to ensure the comfort and convenience of the performers.

Our apology for any inconvenience caused.
There are a total of 12 practices starting 3 May 2008 (Sat) and every Saturday thereafter, leading to the actual NDP on 9 Aug 2008 (Sat). We will let you know the practice venue and time as soon as they are available.
Don't worry too much about transportation. There will be buses at designated pick-up points to fetch you to and fro the practice venue.
IMPORTANT: As there are dance formations, we encourage you to attend all the practices. If not, at least 80% out of the 12 scheduled practices (compulsory for the first 4 sessions and last 5 sessions).
This is a national event with live television coverage. Therefore your commitment and priority for practices are greatly appreciated.
