Division / Eligibility

The eligiblity of participants for each division is summarized below for your easy reference.

1.	Newcomer	For people who have been dancing with less than one year and have never taught dancing for monetary compensation.
2.	Novice	For people who have never taught dancing and may have assisted a teacher in class with no monetary compensation.
3.	Intermediate	For people with more than 1 year dancing. INSTRUCTORS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE.
4.	Advance	For anyone including instructors.
5.	Showcase	Same as No. 4.
6.	Renegade	Same as No. 4.
7.	Team (Group)	For group of 2, 3, 4 etc., refers Rule No. 5. Time limits: 4-6 minutes.

Rules

The major rules governing the line dance competiton are given below.

1. • Each contestant is allowed to enter only ONE (1) division according to the age group. Please refer to UCWDC OFFICIAL entry form for age group.
   • Contestants may choose from one to five dances from the list of dances in their respective division.
   • However, contestants must dance at least a minimum of THREE (3) dances in their respective division if they want to compete for the OVERALL CHAMPIONSHIP for the stated division. If a contestant has chosen more than THREE (3) DANCES, the computer will select each contestant's three (3) BEST finishes when calculating the overall winner. Dancers who enter four (4) or five (5) dances have a better chance to win the overall than those who enter only three (3).
   • On the day of the competition, you may drop (scratch) dances but you cannot add or change any dances on your registration on the day of the competition.
2. Contestants who compete in the INTERMEDIATE OR ADVANCED DIVISIONS ARE ALSO ALLOWED to enter the SHOWCASE and/or RENEGADE DIVISIONS.
3. For SHOWCASE DIVISION, contestants may do any dance with as many variations as they want to the GIVEN SONG sanctioned by UCWDC. (Refer to Showcase Songs table.)
4. For RENEGADE DIVISION, UCWDC will play the music only once on the competition day itself, contestants will then have to make up a dance as they move along with the music, i.e. your own choreography.
5. For TEAM (GROUP) DIVISION, contestants may perform any dance or medley of dances to their own choice of song or medley of songs. The dance routine must be at least four (4) minutes long but not more than six (6) minutes long including the entrance and exit. THE ROUTINE MUST HAVE AT LEAST 50% LINE DANCE CONTENT. THE MUSIC SELECTED MAY CONTAIN UP TO TWO (2) MINUTES OF NON-COUNTRY MUSIC.
